SITA South Gloucestershire
Welcome!
Our surfing club has been active since February 2004 and we already have a good number of members (see the stats on the left). The aim of the club is to promote the sport, the ocean and the environment.

For most of us city-dwellers, it's easy to feel out of touch with what's going on. Most surfing clubs are situated on the coast and keeping in touch is hard. This club is an opportunity to meet fellow surfers living in your own backyard.

If you want to get involved, please join. Membership is £10.50 (online) or £10.00 (cash/cheque), which allows us to cover most of the running costs.

Thursday Club Gatherings - From 8pm at the Pump House
We have a weekly gathering at the Pump House where we all catch up, share a few drinks and make plans for the forthcoming weekend.

This is a really informal, laid back event and everyone is welcome, so if you're interested in joining the club please come along and say hello.

Typically we are in the raised area on the ground floor of the pub, you can't miss us.

See you there.

The surf’s been pretty modest since last weekends pulse so we’ve not got much to report today. The forecast suggests the fine weather and tiny surf is going to continue for a while.

News
It feels wrong even talking about it but there’s no surf so… we are starting to plan the Christmas party. The current plan looks similar to last year – restaurant (approx £20/head) and then more beer and dancing. The date for your diaries is Friday 12th Dec. Andy D has asked if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations for a venue to let him know.

This weeks meeting
The travellers are starting to arrive back from France so there should be a decent turnout this Thursday. Come on down to catch up on the news. 8pm at the Pumphouse, Hotwells. See you there.

Sunshine! Had you forgotten what it was like? Last weekend was a late but welcome blast of warm weather and decent surf. Let’s hope it was the sign of things to come this autumn. The warm spell looks to be holding for now but sadly the surf doesn’t look as strong this weekend.

News
Conditions for this weekend’s Interclub longboard contest are looking iffy at the moment. Scarborough malibu surf club will make the decision to postpone some time today so keep an eye on their web site for the latest news. http://www.s-m-s-c.org.uk
Update: Now officially postponed to the weekend of the 4th/5th Oct.

In happier news, Andy Sturt has offered the services of the BSA offices at Fistral for some free video coaching during the forthcoming Newquay weekend. If you would like some analysis from a top level coach then make sure you put the weekend of November 14th/16th in your diary and put your name down with Sim for the trip.
